Al-Hilal reportedly offered PSG €120 million for Achraf Hakimi in early September 2026, a bid PSG rejected without opening negotiations, per reports.
The report, relayed by Morocco World News, Africafoot, Eremnews and several Dutch and Maghreb outlets, surfaced in early September 2026, after the French transfer window had closed but while the Saudi market remained open. That timing gave Al-Hilal room to submit a bid PSG could not immediately act on through normal domestic transfer channels, though the club still had the option to refuse outright.
The proposed fee is described as separate from any bonuses or salary terms. PSG originally signed Hakimi from Inter Milan in 2021 for between €60 million and €70 million, meaning the Saudi offer would represent a potential profit of €50 million to €60 million if accepted. Transfermarkt currently values the 27-year-old right-back at around €80 million, well below Al-Hilal’s proposal.
PSG reportedly rejected the offer without opening negotiations. Club sources cited in various reports describe Hakimi as central to the sporting project, a status reinforced earlier in June 2026 when he was labeled “untouchable” by PSG-linked reporting. His contract, extended in February 2025, runs until 30 June 2029, giving the club strong legal footing to resist external approaches. His current salary is reported at €14.55 million gross annually. Beyond financials, Hakimi remains valued for his modern fullback flair, blending pace and technical skill in a role that has become increasingly central to PSG’s attacking structure.
Reports indicate the club prioritizes continuity in its defensive structure over short-term financial gain, particularly given Hakimi’s role as a first-choice starter, suggesting only an extraordinary offer well beyond typical market rates could shift PSG’s position.
Al-Hilal’s approach fits a broader pattern of Saudi Pro League clubs pursuing established European stars with nine-figure offers, following similar reported pursuits of players like Victor Osimhen. Whether the Saudi club returns with an increased bid before its window closes remains unconfirmed.
