Atlas Lions Insider is committed to correcting inaccurate information openly and as promptly as reasonably possible.
This policy applies to our news articles, player profiles, match coverage, records, rankings, and other published content.
Reporting an Error
Readers can report a possible error through our Contact page or by emailing admin@atlaslionsinsider.com.
Please include:
- The URL of the relevant page
- The information you believe is incorrect
- The correction you are requesting
- A reliable supporting source, when available
We review credible correction requests against official statements, primary sources, established news organizations, and other reliable evidence.
Minor Edits
We may correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, formatting, broken links, or unclear wording without adding a correction notice when the change does not affect the article’s meaning.
Material Corrections
A material error is one that could significantly change a reader’s understanding of the story. Examples include an incorrect score, date, player, club, competition, quotation, transfer status, injury, suspension, squad selection, fee, or international record.
When a material factual error is confirmed:
- The incorrect information will be corrected
- The article’s updated date may be changed
- A correction note will normally be added explaining what was amended
Material factual corrections will not be made silently.
Clarifications
We may add a clarification when the original wording was factually accurate but incomplete, ambiguous, or reasonably open to misunderstanding.
A clarification does not necessarily mean the original article contained a factual error.
Updates
Football news can develop quickly. New information received after publication may be added as an update.
An update is different from a correction: it reflects a new development rather than an error in the original reporting. Significant updates may be identified within the article.
Headlines and Images
If a headline, caption, or featured image creates a materially inaccurate impression, we will amend it. Illustrative or AI-assisted images are not presented as documentary evidence that an event occurred.
Retractions and Removal
When an article is found to be fundamentally unreliable and cannot be adequately corrected, we may retract it and provide an explanation.
Complete removal is reserved for exceptional circumstances, including serious legal, privacy, or safety concerns. Whenever reasonably possible, we prefer transparent correction or retraction over silently removing published material.
Correction Decisions
Corrections are based on factual evidence. We do not change accurate reporting solely because an individual, club, organization, or reader disagrees with it or considers it unfavorable.
Opinions and analysis may be updated when relevant, but differences of interpretation are not necessarily factual errors.
