Gessime Yassine, the Moroccan international at Strasbourg, has reportedly attracted interest from Chelsea.

Chelsea are reportedly planning to bring Morocco international Gessime Yassine to Stamford Bridge as the 20-year-old winger continues to attract interest from Premier League clubs.

According to a report published by TEAMtalk on October 20, Chelsea and their BlueCo ownership group see the Strasbourg player as a future addition to their squad. A move could take place in 2027 or later, although no timetable has been confirmed.

Yassine has also reportedly attracted interest from Brighton, Newcastle United, Sunderland, Brentford, Everton and Nottingham Forest.

Chelsea monitor Yassine’s progress at Strasbourg

Yassine joined Strasbourg from Dunkerque in January 2026 and has established himself in the French club’s attack.

The left-footed winger, who can operate on either flank, has recorded two goals and two assists in Ligue 1 this season, according to TEAMtalk’s October 20 report.

Chelsea and Strasbourg are both controlled by BlueCo, giving the London club a direct connection to Yassine’s development in France.

TEAMtalk reports that Chelsea are pleased with his progress and view him as a player who could eventually join their first-team squad.

The report also states that Yassine is receptive to a future move to Chelsea.

However, neither club has announced a transfer agreement, and there is no confirmed date for a potential move.

Yassine’s rise includes a World Cup goal for Morocco

Yassine’s progress at club level follows his breakthrough with Morocco’s senior national team.

Born in France, the winger developed through several lower-division clubs before joining Dunkerque in January 2024. His performances there helped secure his move to Strasbourg two years later.

His international career reached an important milestone at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, when he scored in Morocco’s 4-2 group-stage victory over Haiti on June 24.

FIFA’s official match coverage confirms the goal, which marked a significant achievement in the young winger’s international career.

Yassine is part of a growing group of Moroccan internationals developed in European football. His career path reflects the wider role of Morocco’s football diaspora in supplying players to the Atlas Lions.

His development is covered in more detail in the Gessime Yassine player profile.

Premier League interest follows his Ligue 1 breakthrough

Yassine’s performances have also placed him among Morocco’s notable young players competing in France.

Strasbourg already featured prominently in Atlas Lions Insider’s September analysis of Moroccan player market values by club, with Yassine and Samir El Mourabet among the club’s Moroccan representatives.

Chelsea’s reported plans suggest the London club is considering how Yassine could fit into its future squad.

For now, he remains a Strasbourg player, with his immediate focus on continuing his development in Ligue 1.

Whether that leads to a move to Stamford Bridge in 2027 or later remains uncertain.
