In the 53rd minute, he struck again, arriving at the right moment to convert a cross inside the Alavés box for the winning goal. Some match reports also credited Zabiri with a man-of-the-match performance following his double contribution.
The brace extended Zabiri’s tally to five goals in five league matches, a rate of one goal per game since the start of the season, including a hat-trick against Elche on August 28 that had already marked him as one of the league’s most productive forwards.
He now sits provisionally in second place in LaLiga’s scoring charts, one goal behind leader Raphinha of Barcelona, who has scored six. Zabiri is tied at five with Sergio Camello of Rayo Vallecano, though some reports also mention Roberto Fernández of Espanyol among the group sharing that tally. The standings remain provisional, pending other results from the matchday and upcoming fixtures.
At 21, Zabiri’s early-season form has drawn comparisons to more established figures in LaLiga, including fellow young talent Ilias Akhomach, who has also been recognized as part of football’s rising next generation. Racing Santander were also reported to have climbed to around eighth place in the table following the result.
