Atlas Lions looking to extend perfect start

Morocco enter the November international window with six points from their opening two qualifiers.

Mohamed Ouahbi’s side defeated Gabon 2-0 in Rabat on September 25 before securing another 2-0 victory over Lesotho in Bloemfontein four days later.

The Atlas Lions have scored four goals without conceding in Group A, which also includes Niger, Gabon and Lesotho.

The upcoming double-header gives Morocco an opportunity to strengthen its position in the group before qualifying continues in 2027.

The matches will also be the team’s first competitive fixtures since the September qualifying window. Morocco’s most recent international appearance was a 1-1 friendly draw against Mali on October 4.

Ouahbi has not yet announced his November squad.

The previous Morocco squad for the AFCON qualifiers included 29 players, although the selection could change before the two meetings with Niger.

Further details concerning squad selection, ticket availability and broadcast arrangements are expected closer to the matches.
